Update as of April 30, 2020
Dear Patients, Families and Friends,
You may have heard Governor Polis on Monday declare that dental offices may begin to open for business, but in actuality, he and the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies have allowed very limited function in our office, saying “While we recognize there is a pent-up demand for non-emergency and elective procedures, this is not a green light to immediately resume business as usual on Friday, May 8th.” Therefore, while we continue to be open for emergencies, North Boulder Dental is not yet able to provide the dental hygiene therapy and restorative procedures that were part of our routine dental care.
We have not been idle during this time! Almost immediately after we stopped seeing our patients for elective care, North Boulder Dental donated all of our Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to local hospitals and first responders. We are now in the process of replenishing our own PPE, upgrading to the appropriate mask level as well as ordering new procedural gowns and over wear. As you may imagine, the demand for this PPE is great, and we will be opening soon once we have an optimal safe environment for staff and patients.
At the same time, we have been consulting with representatives of the American Dental Association, the Colorado Dental Association, the Center for Disease Control and OSHA as well as other professionals to implement practices and techniques that will enhance infection control within our office. Our office will look different the next time you see it, as we have made physical changes to increase everyone’s safety.
We will continue to keep you informed as we learn more about our timetable. The safety and health of our patients and staff are our first concern. As always, if you have questions or concerns about your dental treatment, call or email us. (303-447-1042 or patientcare@boulderdental.com)
Sincerely,
Drs. Murphy, Sica, Welden, Nielsen and Dhaliwal
Update as of April 22, 2020
Thank you for your patience in these challenging times.
Although Governor Polis announced that medical and dental offices may soon start to reopen, that remains dependent on the limited availability of personal protective equipment (PPE). For this reason we are unable to return to business as usual at this time. The health and safety of our patients, staff, and community remains our primary concern as we work tirelessly to follow the new standards of care set forth by the Center for Disease Control and the American Dental Association. We are currently waiting to receive the approved equipment and PPE necessary to treat patients in the most responsible way. We will contact you once we are ready to safely reopen. Until then we continue to be available for emergency treatment.
Thank you again for your patience,
North Boulder Dental Team

Update as of March 16, 2020
Valued patients at North Boulder Dental Group,
First of all, we hope everyone is doing well during this difficult time.
Due to the unfortunate spread of the Coronavirus and Governor Polis signing an executive order, that all elective/non-essential procedures be temporarily suspended from until April 14th. Our office is closed, however, we will continue to provide emergency care as needed, and we will make every effort to re-appoint all patients as soon as possible.
We anticipate that we will receive more state and federal guidance in the coming days concerning when it will be safe to treat patients. If you have any questions or are experiencing a true dental emergency, do not hesitate to contact us. If you have an upcoming appointment scheduled consider it cancelled and the office will be contacting you to reschedule once we re-open.
We continue to value your patience and understanding during these unprecedented times and will keep you up to date as we learn more.
Sincerely,
Drs. Murphy, Sica, Welden, Nielsen and Dhaliwal
